Serie A: Juventus close to ninth consecutive title after 2-1 home win over Lazio, Ronaldo net brace

Juventus has gone eight points atop the Serie A table after 2-1 triumph over title rivals Lazio on Monday.


Cristiano Ronaldo opened scoring for Juventus in the 51st minute from the penalty spot after his shot was handled in the box.

The Portuguese playmaker added the second to place Juventus two goals ahead after converting Argentine forward Paulo Dybala's low cross.

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile pulled one for the club from the penalty spot, but the Old Lady held on till the end to clinch a vital win inside the Allianz Stadium.

With this win, Juventus are comfortably sitting on the number one spot with 80 points, while second-placed Inter Milan have 72 points and Lazio are fourth with 69 points.
