Man U: Pogba 'happy at United' and ready to sign new deal

Manchester United French pro midfielder Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba is reportedly expecting Manchester United to begin talks over a new contract once their Europa League campaign has concluded.

The Red Devils will take on Sevilla in the semi-finals of the competition on Sunday night before a potential final against either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk on August 21.

The France international is allegedly "happy at United" and willing to sign a new contract with the 20-time English champions, signalling a turnaround, having previously been strongly linked with an exit.

"Pogba is happy at United and he's expecting them to open contract talks once their Europa League campaign is over," said Sky Sports News journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

"His current deal runs out next summer but United always insert this year option so they don't get caught out with free transfers.

"It should be said United are in a better position to negotiate with Pogba and the returning Dean Henderson, as it stands from Sheffield United, following the departure of Alexis Sanchez and all of the money his wages have now freed."

The 2018 World Cup winner's current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire next summer, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side do have the option of activating an additional 12 months.
