Champions League: Liverpool 2-0 FC Midtjylland - Reds defensive woes heighten with Fabinho injured
Liverpool defeated FC Midtjylland 2-0 at Anfield in their UEFA Champions League encounter on Tuesday 27 and are now leaders of Group D.

The Reds who have Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk currently out of action due to injury he suffered during their Premier League clash against Everton, had their defensive problems soar after losing Brazilian versatile player Fabinho to injury.

Despite top forwards Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in action, Liverpool recorded no goal in the first fourty-five minutes.
Liverpool broke the deadlock after ten minutes into the second half through Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah went on to ensure The Reds got a clean sheet with the second goal from the penalty spot.

The English side were awarded the penalty after FC Midtjylland Brazilian defender Paulinho brought down Egypt forward Salah in the area.
Liverpool, after this result, hold the number one spot in Group D with six points from two matches while FC Midtjylland have recorded zero point after two matches.
