Jurgen Klopp has reportedly informed the Liverpool board of his desire to secure a deal for Timo Werner this summer.

The Reds have long been linked with a
swoop for the RB Leipzig frontman, who has amassed a total of 30 goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season.

However, recent reports had suggested that Liverpool had withdrawn their interest  in Werner amid financial concerns arising from the coronavirus pandemic - with the striker's release clause currently set at €60m (£52.7m).

Nevertheless, Klopp is supposedly determined to add the Germany international to his ranks at Anfield, and according to The Guardian, the Liverpool manager has made it clear that Werner would be a 'perfect' signing.

The report also suggests that Werner remains keen on a move to Merseyside, and Liverpool have until June 15 to activate the 24-year-old's release clause.
