Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah was sent off on Tuesday in the English Premier League match against Leicester City and the club has appealed against the sanction.

The 21-year old was booked initially for a
foul on defender James Justin, however, after Referee Chris Kavanagh sought advice from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and viewed the action on a pitch-side monitor, the decision was changed to a red card.

Arsenal will slug it out with Tottenham in their next top flight encounter on 12 July but Nketiah will be missing for Arsenal in their next three games as a result of the suspension.

Nketiah's case will be heard by a Football Association Regulatory Commission. The striker's sanction could be increased to up to double the standard ban if it is decided the appeal "had no prospect of success" or "amounts to an abuse of process".

The Gunners really have very tough fixtures ahead as they face Liverpool, who clinched the Premier League title after waiting for three decades and then move on to battle Manchester City who hold the second spot on the top flight table.
