Nigeria striker Osimhen loses father

Victor Osimhen. A Nigerian professional footballer, plays as a striker for French Ligue 1 club Lille and the Nigeria National Team. Born 29 December 1998 in Lagos, Nigeria. He kicked off his career at the Ultimate Strikers Academy, based in Lagos, Nigeria. In July 2019, Osimhen signed for Lille. Super Eagles and French Ligue 1 striker, Victor Osimhen, is bereaved having lost his father, Patrick Osimhen on Saturday night.

The 80-year old and father of seven,
reportedly died after a brief illness.

Victor Osimhen announced the death of his father via his Twitter handle on Sunday. “Rest in peace dad. No words to describe this feeling”, the Super Eagles player wrote.

Osimhen used to live with his father at Olusosun suburb of Oregun/Ojota in Lagos. The mother, Mrs Christiana Osimhen had earlier died in 2001, 14 years before Victor hit global limelight with his exploits at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
