Paris Saint-Germain defeated Saint-Etienne by a lone goal to lift the French Cup on Friday, 24 July inside the Stade de France.

French pro striker Kylian Mbappe was not available for the whole 90 minutes as he limped off the pitch due to a horrible tackle by Saint-Etienne defender Loic Perrin.

It was the first game in France after the League was ended in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Brazilian forward Neymar put PSG in front in the 14th minute against Saint-Etienne.

Perrin's tackle on Mbappe caused a clash between players of both teams before the striker limped off the pitch in tears, and he could be missing for PSG in their Champions League encounter against Italian Serie A club Atalanta.

Both sides showed tiredness on their return to competitive action, however, Neymar's goal was enough to seal Paris Saint-Germain's 13th Coupe de France.
