Lecce defender Luca Rossettini is in hospital, as although he tested negative for COVID-19, he is suffering from a persistent fever.

A statement from the club confirms Rossettini has an unexplained high temperature that has lasted for several days.

He had both swab and blood tests for traces of COVID-19, all of them coming back negative.

As a precaution, he has been taken to hospital for observation and more in-depth tests.

Lecce’s next Serie A match is on Tuesday against Lazio, but Panagiotis Tachtsidis will be suspended for that clash.

Also absent are Gianluca Lapadula and Biagio Meccariello.
