Liverpool were handed a guard of honour as they made their way out at the Etihad.
The deposed Premier League champions have taken a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time after a dominant first-half display.
Raheem Sterling was fouled by Joe Gomez and Kevin de Bruyne promptly opened the scoring from the penalty spot.
Sterling then got in on the act himself, tucking home after good work from Phil Foden.

The young Englishman then struck himself, finishing coolly after a smart one-two with De Bruyne.
Mahrez’s fifth was disallowed after VAR picked up a handball in the build up.
