Lazio are 'used to living with problem' - Simeone Inzaghi

Simone Inzaghi will have to cope without Felipe Caicedo and Ciro Immobile against Milan tomorrow, but is ‘convinced’ Lazio will perform and are getting accustomed to the new situation.


Immobile scored his 29th of the campaign as Lazio beat Torino 2-1 at the Grande Torino but Inzaghi must plan without the goalscorer against Pioli’s men.

Both Immobile and Caicedo picked up a yellow card against the Granata and the Biancocelesti coach must be inventive in his approach on Saturday.

“I haven’t picked my forwards, no. We must train tomorrow morning, to see how [Lucas] Leiva and [Danilo] Cataldi are doing and understand if they can help us,” Inzaghi said at a press conference.

“We are getting used to living with problems during this period. I’m convinced the team can play an excellent game regardless of formation and players.”

Lazio are four points behind Juventus but sit 20 points above Roma at fifth and Inzaghi stressed how ‘proud’ he is of the team’s season.

“These guys are having a great season, I’m proud to be their coach. There are seven points left of our first championship, then we must take one game at a time.

“It’s nice. It’s something important, I have been here for many years. I’m very attached to the players. Without them, we wouldn’t have won the Cups and this run in the League.

“The points are a great achievement, now we look at Milan, an organised team with excellent players.

“I know Pioli well, I was lucky to have him here when I was a reserves coach. He is very prepared, and he is an excellent person.

“[Zlatan] Ibrahimovic is a top player, he will surely get special treatment. We will see if he starts or comes off the bench."
