Liverpool and Manchester United  reportedly remain keen on securing the signature of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

While the Senegal international has been frequently linked with a switch to the Premier League, it has been suggested that his valuation may prove too high due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandmeic.

However, according to The Sun, Liverpool and United have recently made contact with Napoli to reiterate that they wish to conclude a deal.

Although both teams have been strong at the back during the current campaign, Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer  are each keen to add different options to their squad.

Previous reports have suggested that the Serie A outfit may be willing to entertain offers in the region of £72m.

Nevertheless, president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that he has no intention of accepting a cut-price fee for a player once valued as high as £90m.
