Premier League: Manchester City 2 - 1 AFC Bournemouth - As it happened

AFC Bournemouth suffered away defeat to Manchester City and are three points adrift Premier League safety.


The Cherries had series of chances against. the Citizens, however, were unable to convert.

David Brooks' late goal gave Bournemouth some hope of a possible draw at the Etihad, Man City claimed all three points in the end.

Just six minutes after kick-off, Manchester City took the lead as Spanish attacking midfielder David Silva hit the back of the net through a free kick.

City got the second goal in the 39th minute through Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus' strike.

The Citizens are second on the table with 75 points while the Cherries sit in the red zone on the 18th spot with 31 points.

Manchester City have also qualified for next season's Champions League after their ban from the continental tournament was lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
