Godwin Obaje has put pen to paper to join Abia Warriors on a two-year deal.

The signing of Godwin Obaje, a former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) highest goalscorer was made public by the club on Friday.

Obaje's addition makes it Abia Warriors sixth signing of the transfer window and a total of seven additions.

Other signings are Nzube Anaezemba (Lobi Stars), Markson Ojobo (Akwa United), Vincent Edafe (Dakkada FC), Dennis Kingsley (Odion Ighalo Academy), Mustapha Jubreel (Mighty Jets) and Ojo Olorunleke (Sunshine Stars).

Obaje made a return to the Nigerian top flight after an experience at JS kairouan, a Tunisian Football outfit.

He also flaunted the colours of El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the home league.

The Umuahia-based club promoted two players from the feeders team as they heighten preparations for the season ahead.

“We are very happy that he will be campaigning for the club at a time the club has placed a high target and has equally matched the talks with actions in view of next season.

“He has proven pedigree of being an exceptional player and equally the best during his time in the league, down at Tunsia from where he staged a return back to the league, he has played for the National  team and he is an exciting, dynamic talent. We are delighted to be able to add his versatility and quality to the squad before the season begins", Mr Patrick Ngwaogu, who is Abia Warriors Sporting Director said.
