Real Madrid plot £460m spending spree for Hazard, Pogba, Eriksen among other

Real Madrid are planning an overhaul of their squad this summer with boss Zinedine Zidane looking to bridge the gap to their rivals.


Zidane, according to Spanish outlet AS , has 'sat down with his bosses' to identify five players he wants to acquire this summer in a spending spree close to £460million.

The Galactico era has become a thing of the past over previous windows, but now the club are willing to bankroll a major transfer spending spree upon Zidane's return to the club that will see them spend more this summer than they have on 23 signings in the past five years.

The report details how the Frenchman wants Manchester United's Paul Pogba, Chelsea star Eden Hazard, Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen, Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Frankfurt's Luka Jovic.

The big issue for Real is that the players they are monitoring will not be available cheaply - which is an issue while the club also try and finance their rebuild of the Bernabeu.

They have already signed Porto defender Eder Militao for £43m and are showing no signs of concluding their business with that move.

Hazard is considered the most likely arrival given his contract with Chelsea expires in 2020.

Tottenham's creative midfielder Eriksen also sees his current contract expire next year and is another Real will feel is a realistic option.

Pogba has long been linked with a switch to Real Madrid in recent months, not least to link up with fellow Frenchman Zidane after he returned to the top job at the Bernabeu.

Pogba earns £15million a year at Old Trafford and is one of the best paid players at the club. DailyMail
