1 June: AC Milan Legends retired today

From Left: Franco Baresi (1st and 2nd photos). An Italian former player and manager. He player as a central defender. Baresi spent his entire 20-year career with Serie A club AC Milan. He is regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time. Baresi was so successful with AC Milan that he clinched three UEFA Champions Leagues titles, six Serie A titles, four SuperCoppa Italiana titles among other titles. Mauro Tassotti (3rd and 4th photos). An Italian manager and erstwhile footballer, played as right back. He is the assistant coach of the Ukraine National Team currently. Tassotti made his Serie A debut with Lazio and went on to spend 17 years of his career with AC Milan. On this day in 1997, Franco Baresi and Mauro Tassotti played their last game for Milan as Cagliari won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Roberto Muzzi.

The Rossoblu travelled to San Siro for the last match of the 1996-97 campaign, when Milan ended 11th in Serie A and bid farewell to their captain fantastic Baresi.

Tassotti, meanwhile, played out of position - alongside Demetrio Albertini in central midfield.

The right-back completed the full 90 minutes before retiring from football after 17 years and 576 matches with the Rossoneri, while Baresi finished on 714 outings in red and black.

Together they won five Scudetti and three European Cups/Champions League as Diavoli, plus four Supercoppe and three European Super Cups.

My Opinion: True definition of success. So many titles with one club. 😊
