Emmanuel Emenike has revealed that Late Stephen Keshi rejected a cash gift he offered him after signing an endorsement deal with a Brewery Company just after Nigeria defeated Ethiopia to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.


"For me I have never paid anyone in the National team. Even when I do endorsement, I tried giving Keshi something out of goodwill but he said no, I don't need anything from you.

"Our football needs to change, a lot of things are going on," he added.

Emenike was one of Nigeria's marksmen during his time and was a constant goal threat.

He made 37 appearances for the Super Eagles, netting 9 times and assisted 6 goals between 2011 - 2015.
