Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is close to signing for Zenit St Petersburg in a £10.9 million deal.

The Croatia international has spent six seasons at Anfield but has made just 15 appearances this season, falling to fourth-choice centre-back in the pecking order
behind Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

Lovren was set to enter the final year of his contract and although Liverpool have an option to extend that by a further 12 months the centre-back looks set to move on.

Dejan Lovren clinched the English Premier League 2019/20 trophy with Liverpool after helping the Reds defeat Chelsea 5-3 inside Anfield.

It's the first time Liverpool is winning the top flight title in thirty years, and Reds fans were seen celebrating outside despite Police warnings.

Liverpool German Head Coach Jurgen Klopp has said Liverpool can achieve anything if they stay "humble".

After the 5-3 triumph over Chelsea, Klopp went ahead to express his disappointment with Blues Manager Frank Lampard's "arrogant" comment and the German responded by calling the Englishman a "young coach and has a lot to learn".

With Liverpool's recent achievements and form, French former pro striker Nicolas Anelka has advised Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah and Senegalese forward Sadio Mane to remain at Anfield and forget about a move to Spanish Champions Real Madrid.
