English forward Raheem Sterling netted a hat-trick for Manchester City against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium

As ever, Pep Guardiola was more than happy to rotate his side with six changes in total - including an entirely different backline from the back four that played in the 5-0 win over Newcastle.

City were enjoying total domination of the ball and were looking in the mood to open the scoring, and a quarter of the way through, Raheem Sterling made his mark.

Gabriel Jesus made it two, tapping home from a Rodri knockdown. Sterling headed home to make it three after a pinpoint delivery from Mahrez.

Bernardo Silva made it four and Sterling sealed his hat-trick and 5-0 rout of Brighton with a bizarre header.
