PSG confirms Mbappe has ankle sprain and it's 'serious'

Kylian Mbappe has a serious ankle sprain and remains highly doubtful for Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League quarter-final with Atalanta.
Mbappe limped off in tears during yesterday’s Coupe de France Final after he was on the receiving end of a reckless lunge.
The forward has since undergone more tests this morning, which PSG says showed “serious right ankle sprain to the external lateral compartment. To be re-evaluated in 72 hours with clinical and ankle imaging analysis.”
This means the ankle is currently too swollen to get a clear picture of potential ligament damage.

The injury may well be serious enough to rule him out of the knockout tie with Atalanta on August 12.
The fixture will be played in Lisbon, as part of the Champions League’s new ‘Final Eight’ format.
