Video ⬇ This is turning into Sergio Ramos’ league title. The Real Madrid captain scored his fifth goal since the season restarted and won another game for his team who went seven points clear at the top ahead of
Barcelona’s game at Villarreal to be played later Sunday.

It was his 22nd straight penalty conversion. As ever with Ramos there was a generous spoonful of the controversy in the mix. He scored his penalty on 70 minutes after Marcelo had been stepped on in the area by Dani Garcia.

The Madrid captain slotted his spot-kick to the right of Athletic keeper Unai Simon to decide a fiercely contested game at Athletic’s San Mames.

The game ended with various players going face-to-face with each other after Iker Munian had clattered Luka Modric and substitute Oscar De Marcos had his hand around the throat of Marcelo, although the two made up on the final whistle.

Ramos was booked late on and will now miss the next game. They will miss him. His goals are dragging them towards the title at the moment.

They are already without Eden Hazard who missed his second consecutive game because of pain in the right ankle he had operated on earlier this year.
