David Lee, a football agent, has disclosed to SportsMole that Gareth Bale still wants to play for Spanish top flight Champions Real Madrid despite talks about his exit from the club.

Bale had recently accepted that Madrid made it "very difficult" for him to leave the club last summer in the midst of interest from China and England.

There has been a lot of talks about the Welshman pulling away from the club and head coach Zinedine Zidane is not looking to include the winger in his future plans for the Los Blancos.

Bale, 31, watched as his teammates lifted the Spanish La Liga 2019-20 trophy after a 2-1 triumph over Villarreal.

According to reports, Manchester United have reignited their interest in Gareth Bale, however, Agent Lee is of the belief that the winger if given more play time would be happy to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Lee revealed to SportsMole: "I think he's got two years left on a contract and I think he likes it there.

"I think he'd love to play for Real Madrid on a regular basis. He's tried to stay and fight for his place and tried his best to get back in the team.

"But they've been on him from the start - a rumour starts and then the whole of the Spanish media jump on it and then the fans turn on you. It's a tough place to go and play as soon as there is some negativity around you, it's tough. But Gareth wants to play for Real Madrid."
