Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt will undergo shoulder surgery in Rome today and will miss at least the next three months.

The Dutch defender has struggled since he picked up an issue against Atalanta last year, when he dislocated his shoulder.

The 21-year old decided to play on and postpone the surgery until after the season and now that Juventus are out of the Champions League, he can finally operate.

Tuttomercatoweb reveals he landed in Rome last night and that he will miss at least three months after the surgery. De Ligt will therefore miss the start of 2020-21.
