Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has slammed David Silva’s conduct after hearing about his move to Real Sociedad. ‘I have great respect for the player, but not for the man’.

The sudden change of events surprised the Aquile last night, as Silva returned to Spain on a free transfer to Real Sociedad.

A deal with Lazio was seemingly done last week and a medical had been booked in Rome.

The Spanish midfielder had reportedly been offered a deal worth €4m a year plus bonuses, but then he stopped responding to calls from the Biancocelesti.

Sky Sport Italia claimed the playmaker didn’t tell Lazio that he had signed with the La Liga side and Tare found out once Sociedad released an official statement last night.

“I learned about David Silva’s transfer to Real Sociedad,” the sporting director said in a statement on Lazio’s official website.

“I have great respect for the player, but not for the man.”
