Player 'quality' is of 'vital importance', and to 'score goals' - Crystal Palace Boss talks about signing Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace Coach Roy Hodgson is happy the club was able to sign Queens Park Rangers playmaker Eberechi Eze.

The former Liverpool boss says the signing of the Eze will help the club solve the goalscoring problem they faced last season.

Eze was involved in 22 goals (14 goals, 8 assists) for Queens Park Rangers last season but he has only started one game for the Eagles this season in the Carabao Cup.

Roy Hodgson is expecting the player to give his side several options going forward as the season progresses.

“We’ve long since come away from believing football is an 11-man game, especially during lockdown when we were getting used to it being a 16-man game. The quality of your bench becomes of vital importance.

“We’ve been able to bring in players to bring in competition to our attacking phase of play. In Eberechi Eze and Michy Batshuayi, we have players to score and make goals.” Hodgson told the club’s website. Brila
