Covid-19: Positive cases at AZ Alkmaar ahead of Napoli trip

Dutch football club AZ Alkmaar have announced 'a number of new cases' of Covid-19 ahead of their Europa League encou her against Italian Football club SSC Napoli.

Napoli who stunned Atalanta 4-1 at San Paolo in their Serie A game are preparing to lock horns with AZ Alkmaar in Europa League on Thursday, the Dutch outfit has gone ahead to release the news of the coronavirus positive cases before their first preliminary match of the 2020-21 season.

A statement on the AZ Alkmaar's official website reads: “A number of new corona infections were detected with the group of players at AZ on Tuesday.

“An inventory is currently being made of the extend of the infections. AZ is in close consultation with the KNVB, GGD and UEFA.”
