2019 AFCON: After eight games without a loss, Troost-Ekong believes Super Eagles will do well in Egypt

William Troost-Ekong, Super Eagles defender, has confidently said, the team can now head into the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations after series of matches without a loss.
Since losing 2 - 1 to Argentina in their last group match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, the Super Eagles have remained unbeaten in their last eight games.
After a tough friendly against AFCON hosts, Egypt, the Super Eagles emerged victorious by a lone goal scored by Paul Onuachu in less than a minute into the game.
Nigeria will be among the contenders for the AFCON trophy in Egypt after missing out in the last two editions of the tournament.
Nigeria defender Troost-Ekong, who is particularly delighted at how the new players have acquainted well in the team is confident they will have a good outing at the AFCON.
Troost-Ekong who plays for Italian club Udinese was quoted by Kingfut.com, “It was a great outing for some of the new boys as well. It was great to see Paul [Onuachu] play his first game and the goal that he scored.”
“Egypt was of course a difficult team, one of the favourites for the AFCON, so for us it was a great test and great preparation for the AFCON.
“I think we’ve been doing well in the last months. It’s going to be difficult as well when Egypt have Salah back but hopefully by then we’ll have Musa back as well, [Samuel] Kalu, Kelechi [Iheanacho], maybe [John Obi] Mikel as well."
Egypt Assistant Coach Salgado, has tipped Nigeria as favorites to go far in AFCON.
