Antonio Valencia, current Manchester United Captain is close to leaving the club this summer. The Ecuadorian will be a free transfer this summer and he is injured currently.
Man Utd Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer sees Paul Pogba as his long-term replacement.
At the beginning of the season, Jose Mourinho, former Man Utd Boss stripped Pogba of his vice-captaincy duties claiming that he did not have the right character.
Obviously, Solskjaer sees the Frenchman differently. Pogba has performed well under the Norwegian Manager - playing his best football to date. Pogba also displayed a lot of leadership in a successful world cup campaign last summer.
Whoever gets the armband beyond this season, it should go to a player who sees his long-term future at Old Trafford.
The France international has what it takes to captain a side like United, but he must want to be part of the club’s future.
