Aftermath of FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles making steady progress - John Ogu

Super Eagles of Nigeria celebrate after a goal

After being ranked the third best team in Africa in the latest FIFA Ranking, Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder John Ogu believes the Super Eagles are making steady progress.

The Super Eagles moved up four places from 46th in the world to the 42nd position while in Africa, the Super Eagles maintained its third position on the ladder just behind Senegal and Tunisia respectively.

Gernot Rohr's men, in March, played two competitive games against Seychelles and Egypt recording wins in both games.

The Super Eagles defeated Seychelles 3 - 1 in their final 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier and went ahead to beat Egypt in an international friendly by a lone goal, both matches played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

30-year old Ogu wrote on his instagram page on Saturday: “Nigeria’s Super Eagles ranked third in Africa and 42 in the world. Moving forward.”
