Barca are champions of the Iberdrola League for 2019/2020 after the Board Of Directors and Delegate Commission of the Royal Spanish Football Federation ratified this Friday its proposal made to the
Commission of Territorial Presidents last Wednesday for all non-professional competition to be concluded in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to the impossibility of playing out the last eight sets of fixtures due to the lack of safety guarantees for all parties involved, the RFEF has declared the Iberdrola and Reto Iberdrola seasons over. Barca who topped the table before the interruption, have been declared winners and will be joined by second-placed Atletico Madrid in the 2020/2021 Champions League.

Another decision reached is that there will be no relegation from the top division, but Santa Teresa and Eibar will be promoted from the second, meaning there will be 18 top flight teams in the 2020/2021 season.

Of course, they would have much preferred to have won the title under different circumstances, but fully appreciates that the battle to contain Covid-19 is the most important matter right now.

The side have had 21 stunning games, and recorded 19 wins, 2 draws and no defeats.
Also clinched a goal difference of 86-6, and a 9-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid.
