The 61-year-old was only appointed by the Catalan giants in January following the departure of Ernesto Valverde.

Barca won eight of their first 10 league
matches under the veteran coach, but they have been held by Sevilla and Celta Vigo in two of their last three games.

Barcelona are reportedly planning to sack boss Quique Setien at the end of the season unless there is a radical improvement in results and performances.

Setien is said to have lost the support of the dressing room and, according to Goal, it is now inevitable that the former Real Betis manager will move on this summer, despite being handed a two-and-a-half-year deal when taking over.

Saturday's 2-2 draw with Celta, coupled with Real Madrid's 1-0 win against Espanyol, has left Barca two points adrift  of top spot in La Liga.

Barcelona legend Xavi is rumoured to have been lined up to succeed Setien, having recently confirmed that he was first approached about the top job at Camp Nou late last year.
