Mainz' hopes of avoiding relegation from the Bundesliga heightened after a 2 - 0 triumph over Borussia Dortmund inside the Signal Iduna Park.
Lucien Favre's team are 10 points behind toppers Bayern Munich, but just three points in front of RB Leipzig who are third-placed.
Jonathan Burkardt and Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the goals for the visitors, a goal in each half of the game.

When the German top flight football restarted, Dortmund were full of confidence of contesting for the title with Bayern Munich, but they suffered a lone-goal defeat in their third game to the Bavarians which lowered their hopes of clinching the Bundesliga 2019-20 title.

Dortmund are still second with 66 points while Mainz are fifteenth with 34 points.
