Champions League QF: Leipzig vs Atletico Madrid - Timo Werner missing after move to Chelsea, Thomas Partey doubtful

The Champions League continues tonight with RB Leipzig vs Atletico Madrid.

One of the closest match-ups in the quarter-finals, both these sides finished third in their respective domestic leagues, while also both winning 18 and losing four in league play.


In Europe, they both knocked out English opposition in the last round, too: Leipzig saw off Tottenham and Atletico beat reigning champions Liverpool.

The games from this point onward take place across 90 minutes, not two legs, and are all hosted in Portugal behind closed doors.

RB Leipzig will be without Timo Werner, of course, after he completed his move to Chelsea. Emil Forsberg should be fit after tonsillitis.

Atletico could be without Thomas Partey in midfield, while Felipe won’t be fully match fit and thus probably won’t start at centre-back.
