Covid-19: Tottenham Hotspur defender Matt Doherty and Irish teammate James McClean test positive
The Football Association of Ireland have confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur defender Matt Doherty has tested positive for coronavirus.

Doherty's Irish teammate James McClean has also tested positive for coronavirus, the Irish FA confirmed.
Both Doherty and McClean featured for Ireland in their lone goal fall to Wales in their UEFA Nations League Group encounter.
The Irish FA confirmed on their official Twitter account: “The Football Association of Ireland can confirm Matt Doherty and James McClean have tested positive for COVID-19.
“The players have been isolated from the group as per COVID-19 protocols, and the HSE have been informed of this development.
“The rest of the staff and squad tested negative ahead of the flight back to Dublin this morning before the match against Bulgaria on Wednesday.”

It has not been revealed whether Doherty is showing any symptoms, however, Spurs Manager Jose Mourinho will field without the 28-year old defender against Manchester City in their next Premier League encounter on Saturday at 18:30.
The Irishman (Doherty) will have to return with a Covid-19 negative result before rejoining his Spurs teammates.
