Reds German Boss Jurgen Klopp rued Liverpool's lost chances in Wednesday's goalless encounter with the Magpies, however, described the performance as one to work on.
Hosts goalkeeper Karl Darlow made crucial saves, most obviously to deny Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
The outcome retains Liverpool as toppers of the Premier League table with 33 points while Newcastle United are fourteenth with 19 points.

A 'not happy' Jurgen Klopp went ahead to confess how disappointed he was after the game as his side were unable to successfully convert goal chances against their hosts, however, expressed satisfaction with the display.
On whether he is content with the performance, Klopp said: "I’m not happy about the result but the game is already played. I’m not overly frustrated or something like that – it’s football, if you don’t use your chances then it’s difficult to win a game. But you can have a draw with a bad performance or you can have a draw with a good performance, and tonight we had a draw with a good performance. We just didn’t use the chances and that’s why I’m OK with the game. That’s it."
