With Liverani out of the club, Roberto D’Aversa seems set for a return to the Ennio Tardini.

The Yellow and Blues are currently 18th on the Italian top flight table following their 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in their Serie A encounter on Wednesday 6.

Parma made the announcement of Liverani's sack on their official Twitter account.

President Kyle Krause confirmed on Twitter that the Crociati has decided to ‘part ways’ with the coach.

The statement says: “Parma Calcio 1913 announce that Fabio Liverani has been relieved of his post as coach of the first team.

“This morning, we informed Fabio Liverani that we've decided to part ways with him as our coach,” Krause wrote.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Fabio for his hard work & leadership.

“This season has been difficult but Parma are fighters. We move onwards.”
