2019 AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo finishes as top scorer after netting seven times

Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo in action for Nigeria

After the final rounds of the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers, Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo emerged as the highest scorer after netting seven goals.

Ighalo edged out Burundi's Fiston Abdul Razak to finish top of the goalscorers’ chart with seven goals.

On Friday, the Chinese Shanghai Shenhua forward scored Nigeria's opener against Seychelles, a game the Super Eagles won 3 - 1 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Gernot Rohr’s side finished top of Group E with 13 points from six games.

The Super Eagles are making a comeback to the Continental football tournament after missing out in the last two editions of the competition.

Fiston's goal scoring prowess is the main reason the Swallows will be making their maiden appearance at the AFCON finals this summer in Egypt.
