Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa has stated that the Super Eagles' display against Seychelles on Friday was uninspiring due to the poor state of the Stephen Keshi Stadium pitch, Asaba.
However, the Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission had boasted that, the Super Eagles handlers were comfortable with the Asaba Stadium.
The Super Eagles defeated the Pirates 3 - 1 at the Asaba Stadium on Friday with goals from Ighalo, Onyekuru and Simon while Melanie netted for Seychelles.
The Pirates have suffered adversely all through the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifying campaign conceding 25 goals in six games.
Speaking with journalists after the victory, Musa disclosed that the pitch and the inability of the Eagles to train together for a long period of time other the three days also contributed to the dull encounter.
The Super Eagles will play better against the Pharaohs of Egypt come Tuesday, Musa promised.
Musa told journalists: “I will say that the Eagles tried their best against Seychelles.”
“I know that the expectations were high that we would wallop them but we battled many factors including poor pitch and the fact that Eagles only have three days to train together.
“We hope to play an improved game against Egypt on Tuesday.”
