Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will be missing when England play against Czezh Republic and Montenegro in Euro 2020 qualifiers as a result of an ankle injury.

England Coach Gareth Southgate has disclosed he has known the Manchester United man would miss the first match for "a couple of days".

He further said that he would have "no problem" in selecting teenagers Jadon Sancho or Callum Hudson-Odoi instead.

Southgate said, "There's no hesitation we'll play someone we think suitable."

"It is a good opportunity for the others. We have loads of creative players. There is real competition for places.

"If players miss games there is no guarantee they will get back in. It is a challenge for the group."

"People have asked what's the selection policy. In the end the players have to have the quality to play in the shirt," he added.

Rashford's pull out is the latest injury to hit England's squad.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool centre-back, withdrew on Wednesday with a back problem.

Midfielders Fabian Delph and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and defenders John Stones and Luke Shaw, have also withdrawn.

Hudson-Odoi and Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse have been called up in recent days.

England will do battle with Czech Republic inside Wembley Stadium while they travel to Montenegro for their second Euro 2020 qualified on Monday.
