"Cavani hasn't changed", he has "real eye for goal" - Dhorasoo believes the striker will do better at Inter

Edinson Cavani. Started his career playing for Danubio, he played there for two years from 2005 - 2007. He moved to Italian club Palermo from 2007 - 2011. Former PSG teammate Vikash Dhorasoo believes Edinson Cavani ‘would be far more complementary to Romelu Lukaku than Neymar or Kylian Mbappé.’

Cavani will be a free agent this summer and Inter have emerged as the hot favourites to sign him, ahead of Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

La Gazzetta dello Sport sought out his ex-Paris Saint-Germain teammate Dhorasoo, who also has Serie A experience at Milan.

“Cavani has not changed over the years, as his qualities remain the same. He is a striker with a real eye for goal, is very physical, even if he doesn’t contribute to the build-up that much.

“Cavani isn’t as sharp as he was, but he can still put it in the net and continues to help out defensively.”

There have been numerous reports about the difficult rapport between Cavani, Neymar and Mbappé in Paris.

“It’s true to say there isn’t much affinity between them,” continued Dhorasoo.

“I think Mauro Icardi is more in sync with Mbappé and Neymar. I see Cavani as far more compatible with Lukaku than with either of the PSG players, as he can complete the Belgian’s physicality by creating space and stretching defenders.

“I’m sure Antonio Conte will know how to get the best out of Cavani.”
