Premier League Final Day: Chelsea secure Champions League spot after 2-0 win over Wolves

Chelsea finished the English Premier League 2019/20 season in the top four after a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers inside Stamford Bridge on the final day of the League.

With this win, the Blues have secured a place in next season's Champions League.

Frank Lampard's Blues would have scaled through with just one point from the clash at home, however, grabbed all three points stylishly.

In stoppage time of the first half, Chelsea netted two goals separated by 144 seconds.

English midfielder Mason Mount placed the Blues ahead with a beautiful curling free-kick from 25-yard and French striker Olivier Giroud sealed the win for the hosts from close range to place Chelsea in the fourth spot and secure a Champions League place.

With this loss, Nuno Espirito Santo's side finish seventh with 59 points behind Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference following Spurs' 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace while Chelsea finished fourth with 66 points.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' lifeline to Europa League next season depends on the outcome of the FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea.

If Chelsea beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final, then, Wolves' will feature in the Europa League next season, however, if Arsenal emerges victorious against the Blues, then, Arsenal are through to the Europa League, Wolves are out.
