Champions League: Last Eight teams decided

Barcelona and Bayern Munich will slug it out in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Friday 14 August

Atalanta are the remaining Italian team in the UEFA Champions League, however, there are only two previous winners and two domestic champions.

The big boys of the Italian top flight, Juventus, crashed out of the tournament despite a 2-1 home victory over French Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais.

After the game, Lyon Boss Garcia said "getting past Juventus" was "the most satisfying moment" of his career.

La Dea had already qualified thanks to their 8-4 aggregate victory over Valencia before the lockdown.

They will take on PSG in the quarter-final on August 12, while RB Leipzig-Atletico Madrid is on August 13 and a fascinating Barcelona-Bayern Munich on August 14.

Manchester City face Olympique Lyonnais to conclude the quarter-finals on August 15.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this Final Eight format tournament will all be held in two Lisbon stadiums and are one-off knockout rounds.

Curiously, only two of these eight sides have already won the Champions League in their history, and they are going head-to-head in Barcelona-Bayern Munich.

Similarly, only two of the remaining teams won their domestic title this season, specifically Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
