Champions League: Lewandowski net brace as Bayern crush Chelsea 4-1 inside Allianz Arena

German club Bayern Munich showed no mercy as they crushed English side Chelsea by four goals to one inside the Allianz Arena.


With this outcome, the Bavarians have reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski netted twice to help the hosts scale through their visitors comfortably, winning with a 7-1 aggregate after  3-0 first leg victory.

Lewy opened scoring for Bayern Munich in the 10th minute from the penalty spot and Ivan Perisic made it two in the 24th minute against the Blues.

Lanky Striker Tammy Abraham pulled one for Chelsea a minuted before halftime after an uncommon mistake by goalie Manuel Neuer.

Bayern Munich were in control all through the game as they meted the third through Corentin Tolisso in the 76rd minute to make it three for the home side and Poland international sealed Bayern's trumph with a header to make it four in the 83rd minute.

Robert Lewandowski finished the encounter with a record of two goals and two assists.

Bayern Munich will now lock horns with Spanish giants Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the tournament in the city of Lisbon, Portugal on Friday and it will be a one-game match, whoever emerges victorious moves on to the semis.
