Heartland head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has stated that he is likely to lose vital players in the club due to challenges facing the club per finance.
Ilechukwu in a chat with brila.net lamented the delay in players’ salaries and more importantly, the current financial instability rocking the Imo State-owned football club.
“Few of my players are on loan to this club as I am talking to you, the contract has expired coupled with non-payment of salaries on time makes the players not to feel happy and I have tried to talk to them to be patient.
“But one thing is that football is not a pension thing, and once a player made up his mind to leave, you need to allow him because you don’t know what the future might tell, my fears right now is, Heartland FC will lose a lot of good players in this season considering what is happening presently right now." he told brila.net.
