The agent of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has ruled out the prospect of his client leaving the club in the near future.

Guardiola's position as head coach has come under scrutiny for the first time following City's Champions League quarter-final exit at the hands of Lyon, with the Spaniard's tactical decisions being questioned.

While the Citizens have dominated domestically for much of Guardiola's reign, in Europe they have now suffered three successive quarter-final defeats in the Champions League, having been dumped out in the last 16 during his first season at the helm.

The 49-year-old's contract at the Etihad Stadium does not expire until next summer, but speculation had claimed that he could end his tenure early after the latest disappointment, particularly with the Barcelona job now available.

However, his agent Josep Maria Orobitg  has insisted that Guardiola is going nowhere, telling Goal: "Yes, Pep will stay at City 100%."

Guardiola has steered Man City to eight trophies during his four years in charge so far, including two Premier League titles.
