2022 AFCON Qualifying: Algeria 5-0 Botswana - Desert Warriors end campaign unbeaten - see all games and results

Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez found the back of the net as Algeria breezed through Botswana 5-0 in their 2022 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at the Mustapha Tchaka Stadium in Blida, Algeria on Monday 29.

Mahrez returned to Algeria's starting eleven after missing out of their previous encounter against Zambia which ended 3-3 last Thursday.


The Desert Warriors have already booked their place in the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon, the home victory stretched their supremacy in Group H as they balanced comfortably on the table as toppers.


Aissa Mandi opened scoring for the hosts in the 24th minute, Sofiane Feghouli made it two in the 58th minute, Riyah Mahrez netted from the penalty spot in the 64th minute, Baghdad Bounedjah scored the fourth in the 72nd minute and Farid nBoulaya sealed victory for Algeria in the 88th minute.


Algeria finished as Group H leaders with 14 points while Botswana finished as bottom team with 4 points.
