UEFA Champions League: Ajax 0-1 Liverpool - Wednesday 21 - Games, Results and Goalscorers

English Champions Liverpool squeezed out a lone goal victory at Ajax on Wednesday 21 in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League 2020-21 after Argentine defender Nicolas Tagliafico hit the back of his own net.

Tagliafico converted Sadio Mane's cross into his own net handing Liverpool the lead.


Jurgen Klopp's Reds locked horns with their Dutch hosts without top defender Virgil Van Dijk who is seriously injured and might be missing in action for Liverpool for the remainder of the season.


Van Dijk picked up an ACL injury after a collision with Everton goalie Jordan Pickford during their English Premier League encounter at the Goodison Park which ended 2-2.
