Cyprus Cup: Nig vs Bel - Super Falcons beaten 1 - 0 by the Red Flames

The Super Falcons of Nigeria

In their final Group C game at the Cyprus Women's Cup, the Super Falcons of Nigeria were beaten 1 - 0 by the Red Flames of Belgium on Monday.


In the seventh minute of the game, Elena Dohnt scored the winning goal for the Belgians.

Super Falcons head coach Thomas Dennerby made a number of changes to his squad after the break with the likes of Anam Imo who bagged the winner in the 4-3 win against Slovakia last Friday, Chinaza Uchendu and Ngozi coming on but with little effect.

The Super Falcons finished the Group with three points from three group games.

Dennerby's women lost their first clash against Austria 4 - 1, and came back to defeat Slovakia 4 - 3 in their second clash.

Another African representative, Bayana Bayana of South Africa also lost to Czech Republic 2 - 1 on Monday
