Rescue Mission: Nigeria vs Libya - Uzoho, Awaziem train with U-23 Eagles

Goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho and Central Defender Chidozie Awaziem, both of the Nigeria Senior National Football Team, have been deployed to the Under 23 Eagles camp as they trained with the team ahead of the return leg of the U-23 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against Libya.


Both players are on a rescue mission to the Olympic Eagles following the team's first choice goalie Adamu Abubakar, who was red-carded for handling the ball outside the 18-yard box against the Libyans in the first leg in Tunisia which the Young Eagles lost 2 - 0 and the defensive problems of the team in the same match.

According to Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr, who predicted 3 - 0 in favour of the Olympic Eagles, said, Francis Uzoho, who is still within the age bracket would join the Under 23 team. Uzoho was seen training with the team yesterday at the Asaba Stadium alongside Chidozie Awaziem ahead of the crucial Monday encounter.

Senior Team vice captain Ahmed Musa has pledged the Under 23 Eagles ₦1m 💸💸 per goal against the Libyans.

The Olympic Eagles need three unreplied goals ⚽⚽⚽ to scale through to the next round of the qualifiers.
