Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has advised former Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo to remain with English Premier League side Manchester United and shun a return to China.

Ighalo who is currently on loan at Manchester United has been linked with Shanghai Shenhua £400,000-a-week new contract offer which will tie him to the club until 2024.

“Chinese league is like Nigerian league they don’t pay on time. I have two friends playing there right now. I know some Nigerian players too that are complaining about payments. Manchester United can’t keep him anyway because he is too expensive,” the former Nigeria striker stated on T&T.

Meanwhile, Ighalo’s six month deal with the Red Devils is set to expire in the coming days and Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he club is interested in keeping the player for the restart of the Premier league.

Ighalo has scored four goals in his eight appearances for the team before the campaign was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
