Looks like the love is lost between Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Uruguayan pro striker Luis Suarez as new Head Coach Ronald Koeman is reportedly open to the club terminating the forward's contract.

Dutchman Ronald Koeman replaced Quique Setien after an embarrassing exit from the UEFA Champions League as the Catalans were thrashed 8-2 in the quarter-finals of the continental tournament by Bayern Munich.

Koeman put pen to paper to stay at the Camp Nou for two years.

The Spanish club is currently undergoing an overhaul following their poor performance against the German top flight Champions.

According to RAC1, Koeman has informed Suarez that he does not feature in his plans heading into the next campaign.

Suarez, 33, would prefer to remain at the Camp Nou.

However,  the report suggests that the Uruguay international may be open to having his contract cancelled a year early, an option which is said to appeal to club officials.

The striker's lawyers are expected to hold discussions with the club with regards to handing him a free transfer this summer.

Bayern Munich lifted their sixth UEFA Champions League trophy after a lone goal victory over French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
